Perched above historic Plymouth Harbor, this transitional Victorian home blends the elegance of Colonial Revival, Edwardian, and classic Victorian styles—reflecting the architectural character of the early 1900s, when it was originally built. Once owned by prominent members of Plymouth’s past, the home offers a rich heritage and a stunning natural setting that guided the design vision.

The interior honors the craftsmanship of its era, featuring wide-plank floors, brass fixtures, and timeless William Morris-inspired wallpapers. These historic touches are thoughtfully balanced with coastal influences—light-filled rooms, organic textures, a soft neutral palette, and refined modern finishes. The result is a harmonious blend of old and new: a home that feels rooted in history, yet effortlessly livable, fresh, and serene.

Rooted in Scandinavian simplicity and warmth, this Plymouth home was thoughtfully transformed to reflect the homeowner’s deeply personal style. Originally purchased in a state of disrepair, the property underwent an extensive renovation in collaboration with a skilled architect—carefully balancing modern function with historic charm.

Preserving original features was key. The rustic wood-beamed ceiling in the formal dining room and the character-rich brick fireplace were lovingly restored, anchoring the home in its New England heritage. Inspired by Scandinavian design principles, the space was reimagined with clean lines, a soft, natural palette, and an emphasis on light and texture.

Large windows frame the surrounding woodland, blurring the lines between indoors and out, and creating a deep sense of hygge—comfort, calm, and connection to nature. The result is a serene, soulful retreat that feels both timeless and personal.

As a short-term rental, the home needed to balance aesthetic presence with everyday functionality. Materials were chosen for durability and ease of maintenance, and furnishings were selected for both comfort and resilience. The result is a space that supports the flow of daily living while retaining a strong sense of visual calm.

The design draws on the home’s architectural foundation—simple forms, open layouts, and an emphasis on natural light. Warm wood accents and sculptural lighting introduce depth, while a neutral palette and tactile materials keep the experience grounded and serene.

Every decision, from fabric selections to spatial planning, was guided by livability. Performance textiles, wipeable finishes, and clutter-free surfaces were prioritized to support a low-maintenance experience without compromising on style.
